GENERAL INFORMATION                                                                                   

Tomorrow we will have Admin homeroom. Late arrival seniors are expected to attend.

Detention will be held immediately after school today in room 302.

Ping-Pong Club will meet immediately after school today in the cafeteria.

BIG will meet in the auditorium Wednesday and Thursday due to testing in the Library.  Mrs. Baughman will be your guest speaker this week.

Meditation Club will meet every Tuesday at 2:45 in room 301. See Mrs. Radel or Mr. Johnson for more information.

Underclassmen interested in applying Dauphin County Technical School for the next school year, should pick-up an application in the Counseling Office. Applications must be submitted to your Counselor by Tuesday, January 24th.

ATHLETICS

GUIDANCE

SAT PREP classes begin this week on Wednesday and Saturday in room 203.  Openings are available for both classes, see Mrs. Weber in the Counseling office NOW to register.  

Students and or parents interested in a bus trip to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on March 25th should see Mrs. Weber in the Counseling office for an information sheet. Reservations are limited and must be confirmed with payment.

Penn State Hershey Medical Center will hold an educational program on Reducing Cancer in our Community on March 11 at the University Conference Center. Enrollment is limited and preregistration is required.  See Mrs. Weber in the Counseling office for the long link to register.

Seniors: SCHOLARSHIP SEASON is now open and that means you have some work to do if you want to cash in on the available awards.  Please follow directions and remember that neatness and submitting applications on time is important! Scholarships and applicable websites will be listed in Naviance, please see Mrs. Weber in the Counseling Office if you need help accessing Naviance.

New Scholarships

*Capital Area Education Association, this scholarship is for Special Education, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Adaptive Physical Education or School Psychology majors.  Application is available in Naviance or in the Counseling Office and are due to the Association by April 15

*Harrisburg Kiwanis Club youth Foundation, $2,400. Award based on academic record, financial need, community involvement.  Due to the Counseling office by Feb 27th

*Reece Kelley Foundation scholarship applications are available. (2) $1,000 awards renewable up to four years if student meets eligibility requirements.  Deadline Is March 15th

*Hershey Area Art Assn to an individual planning attendance at a college, university or an approved art training institute. Deadline is March 31.

Residents of East Hanover may apply for the East Hanover Lions Club $1,000. Scholarship award, deadline is March 6th

*Hermine Solt Student Scholarship for business related majors. Career in secretarial, office technology, accounting, business education -including business education teaching, business management. Applications are available in Naviance. Deadline March 1.

*Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers for children of bank employees. *William and Arthur Stambaugh for students with demonstrated financial need and strong academic achievement, applicants must complete information on-line and mail additional items.

*Hummelstown Area Historical Society (not major specific)

*Capital Region Association of Irish & Celts Essay contest $1,000 award

*SVANN (Susquehanna Valley Assoc. of Neonatal Nurses) for Nursing majors.

*The Ernest McDowell Pinnacle Health Scholarship website is now open with application postmark deadline of March 24th.  This scholarship is for seniors pursuing a health career.

*The Big 33 Scholarship website opens on January 9 with submission deadline of March 3. Please remember that BIG 33 scholarships are NOT just for athletes, check out the website to apply.

*The Hummelstown Arts Festival-Robert M. Nisley Scholarship applications are available in Naviance with a March 15th deadline. Arts & Music majors get busy now!

*ABC Merit Shop scholarship applications for students enrolling in a trade school, college or university program that is related to a construction career are available now. Information is listed in Naviance with a link to the ABC website.  Deadline is February 24.
