• Parents, Students and Community members,

I wanted to take a moment to welcome you back for the 2018-2019 school year, as well as introduce myself to you.  My name is Johnathon Breininger or you can call me Mr. B.  I will be starting this school year off as the Dean of Students at the Middle School alongside Mr. Breininger Mr. Kulina and Ms. Freedman.  This position is set to extend through the first marking period or until the new Assistant Principal is able to join the Middle School.  I am excited and eager to get this year started and to join the amazing Middle School team and community.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Slippery Rock University and then received my Masters in Education and Principal Certification through Cabrini College.  I began my teaching career in the Harrisburg School District as an Emotional Support High School teacher for my first three years.  I then took a role as the Adventure Based Specialist for their alternative education program for 2 years and finished my 6th and final year in Harrisburg as a middle school Emotional Support teacher.  I was fortunate then to join the Lower Dauphin School District as an Itinerant Emotional Support teacher for a year and then for the last six years, I have been the Emotional/Autistic support teacher at Conewago Elementary.  I have truly loved working in the district and I look forward to taking on this new position as Dean of Students at the Middle School and helping the staff, students and community to continue to learn and grow socially, emotionally and academically to their fullest capacity.

I do understand that change is a process and I know there will be a learning curve for me but I am ready to take on the challenge.  I look forward to getting to know the Middle School students, families and community better as I join the Middle School Staff this year.  Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or need any support, as I truly believe that to best meet the needs of our students it will take a team effort including family, friends and community members working together.  Once again, I look forward to the beginning of this school year and being a member of the Middle School.
