Lower Dauphin

School District

The School Health Law requires dental examinations for children on entry into school (Kindergarten or Grade 1), Grades 3 and Grades 7. These grades were selected because they represent critical periods of growth and development in a child's life. This exam, preferably by your family dentist, must be completed during the school year of these grades or during the 12 months prior to that school year.

If you wish to have the dental examination provided by the school, please contact your school nurse for more information.

It is important that the school have a record of a child's dental health status. This knowledge enables the school staff to help children achieve maximum benefits of their educational opportunities.
