Curriculum Guide
Course Title: Woodworking I Subject: Technology Education Grade Level(s): 9-12 Synopsis of Curriculum
The intent of this course is to provide students with the physical and safety skills associated with wood processing, while also introducing them to the design process and problem solving. The first half of the course will introduce the wood laboratory, safety regulations, the operation of five machines, the design process, and the 3D modeling program Google SketchUp. The second half of the course will cover the more advanced wood working machines and finishing techniques. Over the course of the 18 weeks, the students will be exposed to the content of the course, machine processes, design process, Google SketchUp as well as complete several projects which they will be able to take with them.
