    Synopsis of Curriculum

German IV is the fourth year study course in the language.  We continue to build on skills developed in the first three years.  Students continue to advance in fluency by building vocabulary and demonstrating proficiency in the four areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.  In addition to extensive vocabulary building, students will also learn use of present perfect tense and place prepositions, use of phrasal verbs, infinitive clauses, genitive case, subjunctive verb usage, past tense forms of modal verbs, the imperfect tense of verbs, and superlative forms of adjectives.
